MGVRP traffic stop guidelines
MGVRP Official Traffic Stop Guide (LEO)
Purpose:
To ensure traffic stops are conducted safely, professionally, and with proper radio communication and roleplay standards.
1. Initiating the Stop – Radio Call
Immediately call out your stop before making contact.
Format:
[R-WI] [Unit Number], 10-11 traffic stop near [Landmark/Road Name]. Vehicle: [Color] [Make] [Model], Plate: [Plate], State: [State]. Occupants: [Unknown/# if visible].
Example:
[R-WI] 104, 10-11 traffic stop near 6 Estates. Vehicle is a black Ford Explorer, plate WIS 432JUI, state Wisconsin. Occupants unknown.
2. Activating Lights & Making Contact
Activate emergency lights and direct the driver to a safe location:
“PA: DRIVER, MOVE TO THE NEAREST CUT-OFF AREA!”
Position your patrol vehicle safely (offset slightly for officer protection).
Approach with caution – always keep eyes on the driver’s hands.
Identify yourself and state the reason for the stop.
Example Dialogue:
“Good evening, I’m [Rank] [Last Name] with the Wisconsin State Patrol. The reason for the stop today is [e.g., speeding]. May I see your driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance, please?”
3. Running Information
After receiving the documents:
Return to your patrol vehicle.
RP a record check (/do would show the result).
If all documents are valid, proceed accordingly.
If the vehicle is unregistered:
Radio for backup:
[R-WI] [Unit Number], be advised, plate comes back unregistered. Requesting 10-78 to my 10-20.
Example:
[R-OT] 226, be advised, the plate WIS 432JUI comes back unregistered. Requesting additional 10-78 to my location.
(10-78 = Requesting backup)
4. Handling an Unregistered Vehicle
Once backup arrives:
Re-approach the vehicle together and inform the driver of the issue.
Ask if they are aware the vehicle is unregistered.
Depending on MGVRP policy/server activity, take appropriate action:
Issue a citation
Request a tow (10-51)
Detain the driver if suspicious (e.g., fake plates)
Tow Request Example:
[R-WI] 104, requesting 10-51 to my 10-20 near 6 Estates for an unregistered vehicle.
Officer Dialogue Example:
“Sir/Ma’am, your vehicle is showing as unregistered. I’ll need you to step out while we resolve this matter.”
⚠️ Always roleplay searching, securing, and towing the vehicle properly using /me and /do.
5. Final Radio Call
Once the stop is complete, call it in:
[R-WI] [Unit Number], 10-24, traffic stop concluded. Citation issued/tow requested.
Example:
[R-WI] 104, 10-24, traffic stop concluded, citation issued for unregistered vehicle.
