FD/EMS Scene expectations

Purpose:

To ensure all Fire and EMS personnel operate with professionalism, realism, and coordination during active scenes — enhancing immersion and safety for all participants.

🚨 Initial Arrival

  • Arrive with emergency lights/sirens as appropriate to the call type.

  • Position your vehicle safely and tactically:

    • Avoid blocking other emergency units or traffic flow unless necessary.

  • Take a command presence upon arrival and begin assessing the situation immediately.

🧭 Scene Assessment

  • Identify the scene type:
Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA), Fire, Medical Emergency, Rescue, etc.

  • Look for immediate hazards:

    • Fire or smoke

    • Fuel leaks

    • Live wires

    • Unstable structures

    • Traffic hazards

  • Communicate with other units:

    • Coordinate with LEO, DOT, and EMS.

    • Establish a command post if appropriate.

🩺 Patient Triage & Care

  • Perform triage based on severity:

    • Critical (Red), Moderate (Yellow), Minor (Green), Deceased (Black)

  • Begin realistic medical RP:

    • Check vitals

    • Administer treatment (CPR, bandaging, IV, oxygen, etc.)

    • Provide status updates over radio or to other on-scene personnel

  • Use /me and /do to narrate actions clearly for immersive RP.

🔥 Fire/Rescue Operations (if applicable)

  • Gear up with proper turnout gear and tools.

  • Simulate:

    • Hose deployment and water suppression

    • Breaching doors

    • Vehicle extrication

    • Ladder usage or interior search

  • Work in coordination with EMS for victim access and stabilization.

🚑 Transport & Handoff

  • When transporting a patient:

    • Clearly state destination and patient status on the radio.

    • Roleplay loading the patient into the ambulance (/me, /do).

  • If handing off to another unit (e.g., hospital RP or air evac):

    • Provide a full patient report (injuries, vitals, treatments given).

  • Maintain RP continuity throughout the entire transport.

✅ Scene Wrap-Up

  • Confirm with all involved units that the scene is clear and concluded.

  • Use proper communication to signal end of roleplay or transfer of command.

  • Reset your gear/vehicle:

    • Repack hoses

    • Restock equipment

    • Clear debris or barriers (if applicable)

  • Prepare for the next call — return to staging or station.

🧑‍🚒 Professionalism & RP Standards

  • Stay in character at all times during active scenes.

  • Avoid OOC chatter, trolling, or breaking immersion.

  • Follow all MGVRP FD/EMS SOPs and chain of command.

  • Represent the department with seriousness and realism.

Final Reminder:

Whether you’re saving lives or controlling chaos, every FD/EMS scene should add value, immersion, and realism to the roleplay environment. Act with purpose, communicate clearly, and roleplay thoroughly.
